July 7th - SYC Volunteers did some cleaning and weeding at SkyPointe Church to help get it ready for the Grand Opening on August 21, 2011.
Earlier this week the SYC Volunteers prepared 30 plus activity and snack bags to donate to the families that stay at the Ronald McDonald House here in Wilmington. Next, they took a tour of the House. This place really helps the families of children who are sick at the hospital.
Last, the SYC Volunteers were treated to lunch compliments of Chick Fila at Concord Mall. Thanks Chick Fil-a!

Our Mission: ‘SPEAK exists to help raise awareness about the critical issues and lingering needs within our communities facing children and youth, women and their families and the poor through the use of technology, multi-media tools, activities, events and programs. The goal is to produce positive change in the lives of those whose voices are not being heard and needs are not being met.
"..Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me. Don't Stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.'" Matthew 19:14 (NLT)

Sewing Service Project to benefit youth in foster care
This year the SYC met for 6 weeks in beautiful outdoor locations to help fuel their creativity. It worked, because they exercised their writing and artistic skills to help in the development of an original comic strip on 'bullying'.
The participants in the SYC 2013 Summer Program continued to expand their comic strip storyline and characters from the previous year. The SYC also picked up some sewing skills and help make backpacks to give to youth in foster care.
SYC incorporates volunteer service projects, business internships/ employment, social activities, growth in the knowledge of the Bible. SYC is open to Youth ages 10 to 19 Please read, complete and return the SYC Application to SpeakforTWC@aol.com or UthPrograms@Speak4TWC.org
